It took four rodeos, but the Casper College men’s team finally put together a winning performance. The Thunderbirds scored a season-high 575 points to win the Lamar Community College Rodeo this past weekend in Lamar, Colorado.
The T-Birds, who finished as the runners-up in the Central Rocky Mountain Region last year, had struggled through the first three rodeos of the 2018-19 campaign. But the team roping tandem of Wheaton Williams and Logan Brown placed second as did Garrett Buckley in saddle bronc riding. And Jerren Johnson teamed with his brother Kellan Johnson (Gillette College) to finish fifth in team roping.
