The University of Wisconsin women’s hockey team kicks off their first home game of the 2016-17 season against the Ohio State University Buckeyes Friday night at 6 p.m.
The Badgers (2-0-0, 2-0-0 WCHA) have already started the season off with a bang, earning a weekend sweep over St. Cloud State University (0-2-0, 0-2-0 WCHA) during their opening weekend of play. The Badgers outscored the Huskies 6-0 in the first game of the season, and solidified the series sweep with a 4-2 win the second night.
The Buckeyes (2-0-0, 0-0-0 WCHA) are also off to a great start to their season, with sophomore starting goaltender Kassidy Sauve earning the Western Collegiate Hockey Association’s Defensive Player of the Week.
