Women’s Basketball: Badgers reportedly set to hire Jonathan Tsipis as program’s first male head coach

The Wisconsin women’s basketball team is set to hire their first male head coach in program history, pending approval at Tuesday’s meeting of the Board of Regents, the Wisconsin State Journal reported Monday.

The man tasked with rebuilding the Badger program, which has floundered in recent years, is Jonathan Tsipis, who resigned as the head coach of George Washington’s women’s team Monday.

Tsipis, once the top assistant coach at Notre Dame, has overseen a rebirth in George Washington’s basketball program and was named Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year in 2015. Tsipis took over the terminal program and quickly turned them into a mid-major to be reckoned with.
