Ann-Renee Desbiens, who is hoping to make Canada's Olympic team once she finishes her career with Wisconsin, won the Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award on Saturday.

On Saturday, University of Wisconsin goaltender Ann-Renee Desbiens won the Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award, given to the top Division I women's ice hockey player.

Desbiens, whose 55th career shutout in Friday's win propelled the Badgers to Sunday's NCAA championship game, was a top-three finalist for the second consecutive season, ranking first in the country in goals against average, saves, shutouts and wins.

"Coming off last season with a streak of shutouts I've never seen before, Ann-Renee has backed it up this year with another outstanding, record-breaking year," Wisconsin head coach Mark Johnson said.
