When the United States women’s national hockey team takes the ice for the 2016 International Ice Hockey Federation Women’s World Championship, they will be captained by former Wisconsin Badgers hockey star Meghan Duggan. The team will feature five other former and current Wisconsin Badgers skaters.
The news was announced Wednesday by USA Hockey. The 2016 International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) Women’s World Championship will take place March 28-April 4 in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada.
In the statement from USA Hockey, head U.S. Women’s National Team coach Ken Klee lauded Duggan’s skills on the ice and leadership ability on and off the ice.
