Team USA keeps winning in the International Ice Hockey Federation Women’s World Championship, and the wins have a lot to do with Wisconsin women’s hockey players as current and former Badgers helped Team USA to a second round, 2-1 victory over Finland.
A day after the women faced a 1-0 deficit in the third period but scored the next three goals to defeat Canada, the United States women again found themselves down by a goal.
This deficit came much earlier, as Finland took a 1-0 lead over the U.S. early in the game, scoring with 15 minutes remaining in the first period.
