Madison — The University of Wisconsin women's basketball team didn't get much help from its bench on Wednesday.
The Badgers only got three points from their reserves in an 89-70 loss to Drake at the Kohl Center.
The Bulldogs (2-0) enjoyed a 31-point effort from their bench players.
UW (1-1) was led by Nicole Bauman's 18 points, but the senior guard needed 19 shots to get there. She shot 1 of 9 on three-pointers.
Dakota Whyte added 16 points on 5-of-14 shooting. She had seven turnovers.
Avyanna Young (13 points) and Michala Johnson (12) were the Badgers' other double-digit scorers.
