TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – As the last team to make the field for the NCAA softball tournament, it only figured that the University of Wisconsin softball team would bring a little drama to the proceedings.
The Badgers, who trailed Oregon State by three runs early, were down to their last out before rallying to tie the game in the seventh inning. They then broke loose for six runs in the eighth to beat the Beavers 9-3 in their regional opener Friday night.
The Badgers (29-21) were trailing 3-2 and the first two batters of the seventh struck out.
