One night after staging an improbable comeback to defeat Oregon State in extra innings, the Badgers fell to the Beavers 5-1 in an NCAA regional elimination game at Rhoads Stadium.
Oregon State (30-27) advances to play No. 12 seed Alabama (35-18) in for the regional championship on Sunday, with the Beavers needing to win twice to gain a berth in the super regional.
Meanwhile, the Badgers, making their fourth NCAA tournament appearance in six years, will have to wait at least another year in their quest for their first regional title.
Oregon State freshman pitcher Mariah Mazon (12-17) gained a good measure of revenge against the Badgers, who the night before roughed her up for six runs in one inning of relief work.
