Oklahoma Sooners quarterback Baker Mayfield took home the 2017 Heisman Memorial Trophy in New York on Saturday night, but that doesn’t mean Wisconsin Badgers running back Jonathan Taylor’s season should be forgotten.
Mayfield took home the Heisman by a wide margin over fellow finalists, Stanford running back Bryce Love and Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson, securing 2,398 votes and 732 first-place votes. Taylor, the sole freshman among the top 10 vote-getters, received two first-place votes, seven second-place votes, and 38 third-place votes:
