The Wisconsin football team took on a tough Alabama Crimson Tide squad to open the 2015 season, and despite being handed a convincing loss, several positives can be taken away from the game. One of them is the play of quarterback Joel Stave, and how the short passing game opened up another option when the run wasn’t going.

Against Alabama, Wisconsin’s run was completely shut down. Outside of an Alex Erickson 25-yard end around late in the game, the Badgers couldn’t rip off a run longer than five yards.
