The Badgers head into the 2016 college football season looking for a wide receiver to step into the No. 1 receiver role. One Wisconsin football player – Rob Wheelwright – has his sights set on that spot, and has an even loftier goal.
Wheelwright, who is the likeliest candidate to be the Badgers top receiver this season, wants to cement his name in the Wisconsin record books with the single-season catch record.
To do so he’ll have to better the season his former teammate Alex Erickson put together a year ago, as well as the record set by former Badgers weapon Jared Abbrederis.
