Wisconsin football offensive coordinator Phil Longo has reason to celebrate as his former quarterback, Drake Maye, was drafted by the New England Patriots as the third overall pick in the NFL Draft Thursday night.
Longo coached Maye during his first two collegiate seasons at North Carolina. In 2022, Maye’s second year in college and his first year as the starter, he showcased his talent by completing 66.2% of his passes with 4,321 passing yards, 38 touchdowns, seven interceptions, along with 184 carries, 698 rushing yards, and seven rushing touchdowns.
