According to the composite rankings, Poteat is the No. 545 player in the country, the No. 48 CB, and the No. 4 player in Wisconsin.
Poteat chose the Volunteers over 22 other offers, with notable schools including Wisconsin, Florida, Michigan, Iowa State, Penn State, Nebraska, Pitt, Kansas, Purdue, and several others throwing their hat in the ring.
