On Monday morning the Big Ten Conference, predictably, announced that Wisconsin Badgers quarterback Graham Mertz won Big Ten Freshman of the Week and Big Ten Co-Offensive Player of the Week for his impressive performance against the Illinois Fighting Illini on Friday evening.
Mertz set or tied multiple records in his first career start, including the school record for single-game completion percentage (.952), while tying the school marks with five touchdown passes and 17 consecutive completions (shouts to Tanner McEvoy for sharing this honor with him).
