Wisconsin football faced a tough road environment and a fast, physical host Miami Hurricane team in the Orange Bowl. But a sterling performance from redshirt sophomore QB Alex Hornibrook provided plenty of offense.
The defense wasn’t it’s typical slam-the-door shut self, but they forced three turnovers. The Badger defense also stood tall on third down.
Wisconsin football drew first blood with an early field goal to claim a 3-0 lead. But the host Hurricanes sparked to life and claimed a 14-3 edge.
That’s when the Badgers woke up and poured on the steel. Wisconsin ripped off three touchdowns to get to half up 24-14.
