After the Wisconsin football team lost running back recruit Anthony Williams to Ohio State last year, the recruiting class of 2016 was left without a running back. That changed Sunday when the Badgers received a verbal commitment from Illinois Gatorade Player of the Year Sam Brodner.
Brodner, a composite three-star running back according to 247 Sports, announced his verbal commitment to Wisconsin on Twitter Sunday afternoon.
Blessed to say I’ve committed to the University of Wisconsin! #onwisconsin #sports pic.twitter.com/j35WwfbjDH

Brodner is a big get for the Badgers, who lacked a running back in their upcoming class after Williams decommitted in favor of fellow Big Ten school Ohio State.
