The Wisconsin football team has a battle for the starting quarterback, and that fact was never more apparent than at Saturday’s spring game.
The Badgers cycled through two scholarship quarterbacks and a walk-on, and redshirt freshman Alex Hornibrook looked the strongest of the three in the intra-squad scrimmage.
The Badgers, who used an offense and a defense unit instead of splitting up into two complete teams, sent out Hornibrook and redshirt senior Bart Houston under center, along with walk-on Bobby Dunn.
The real QB battle is between the more experienced Houston and the second-year hurler Hornibrook, but it was the young gun who showed up the “grizzled vet” in Saturday’s action.
