Following a season-opening home loss to an unranked Western Illinois team, the Wisconsin basketball team has dropped out of the AP Poll after debuting in the preseason rankings at #17.
The Badgers opened the season with a 69-67 home loss to the Western Illinois Leathernecks, and a blowout 92-65 victory over the Siena Saints two days later wasn’t enough to keep the AP voters on the Badgers bandwagon as Wisconsin was bumped from the weekly poll.
The AP Poll hasn’t been Wisconsin-less in a long time.
This is the first time the Badgers have been out of the AP poll since the early days of February of 2014 when back-to-back losses to Northwestern and #24 Ohio State dropped the Badgers out of the poll.
