Greg Gard and Wisconsin Badgers basketball program have made their first known contact of the transfer portal season.
Joe Tipton of On3Sports reported that the Badgers have reached out to first-team All-Southern Conference forward Mikeal Brown Jones, who recently entered the transfer portal. Pitt, Miami, Arkansas, and Georgia have also made contact.
The 6-foot-8 forward averaged 18.9 points, 7.5 rebounds, 1.1 assists, and 0.9 blocks in 28 minutes per game and shot 54% from the field. Brown-Jones also connected on 43% of his shots from beyond the arc.
The Philadelphia native, who began his career at VCU before transferring to UNC-Greensboro, has appeared in 113 career games, starting 32 of them, and will have one year of eligibility remaining as a graduate transfer.
