The University of Wisconsin basketball program’s head coach, Greg Gard, predictably received a one-year contract extension following the Badgers athletics board decision regarding winter sports coaches.
Coach Gard was granted the standard one-year rollover, extending his contract to maintain the customary five years. As a result, Gard’s contract is now effective until May 31, 2029, according to a press release.
Wisconsin basketball bounced back after missing the Big Dance last season, finishing with a 22-14 overall record and an 11-9 finish in the Big Ten. The Badgers made it all the way to the conference title game before being defeated by the second-seeded Illinois Fighting Illini.
