The 2016 NCAA Tournament will be the 18th straight tournament that features the Wisconsin basketball team in the bracket, an impressive run by the Badgers that is the fourth-longest active streak in the country.
The last time the Badgers didn’t make the tournament? Things were a little different.
That group of Badgers, the 1997-1998 Wisconsin basketball team, was led by Dick Bennett about halfway through his tenure at Wisconsin.
The team was led by honorable mention All-Big Ten pick Sean Mason, who scored 15.5 points per game during his junior year. Also heavily featured among that group of Wisconsin basketball players was senior Sean Daugherty, who scored 10.
