After the Badgers turned around their season and went from a 9-9 team to a Sweet 16 appearance, the Wisconsin basketball team was recognized by the coaches and finished 23rd in the voting in the final USA Today Coaches Poll.
The Badgers, who peaked at No. 17 in the preseason poll and spent the entirety of the regular season off of the radar for both the Coaches Poll and the AP Poll, jumped nine spots in the final poll from No. 32 all the way to No. 23, equaling the biggest jump in the poll of anyone along with the Gonzaga Bulldogs.
