After the Nebraska Cornhuskers earned a 17-point victory over the Rutgers Scarlet Knights Wednesday in the opening round of the Big Ten Tournament, the Cornhuskers will advance to play the Wisconsin basketball team Thursday in the Badgers first action of the week.
Wisconsin earned a single-bye in the tournament after receiving a six-seed.
Wednesday’s action saw the Cornhuskers ride the hot hand of Shavon Shields, who recorded a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds, as they took down the Scarlet Knights, who finished the year with just one conference victory.
Nebraska will look a little different for the Badgers this time around, as in the last meeting Wisconsin didn’t need to worry about Shields, who missed three games late in the year with an injury.
