Wisconsin Badgers fans will surely notice the significant changes coming to the Kohl Center. In a press release, UW announced Tuesday that construction is underway for a “new and improved game day experience.”
Wisconsin men’s hockey will have a new playing surface this season. In November, UW announced plans to reduce the Kohl Center ice sheet to NHL regulation size. The rink was 12 feet wider before the renovation and among the largest playing surfaces in NCAA Division 1 men’s ice hockey. In February, the Wisconsin State Building Commission approved the change to the ice sheet.
