Indianapolis — The University of Wisconsin women's basketball team tasted defeat for the final time this season.
The Badgers took on a Northwestern team that was missing senior leader Maggie Lyon, who missed the first game of her career with a lower leg injury. That didn't matter as the Wildcats rose to the occasion and downed the Badgers, 76-72, in overtime Wednesday in the first round of the Big Ten women's tournament.
UW (7-22) blew a 10-point lead in the third quarter en route to the loss.
The Wildcats (16-15) went ahead, 65-63, after Amber Jamison hit a free throw with 1 minute, 38 seconds to play in regulation.
