As most of you know, former star Wisconsin Badgers running back James White, who played four seasons in Madison for former head coach Bret Bielema, has just been named the assistant running backs coach at Illinois by Bielema.
While it’s hardly big news nationally, it has rankled a number of Badger fans (and a few players) for various reasons, but primarily because of their perception that Luke Fickell somehow let White slip away and/or owed him a similar job at Wisconsin. I wholeheartedly disagree with these types of arguments.
Before telling you why it’s perfectly alright that White is heading to Champaign, let me say that I’m very happy for him.
