Whitney Hite's seventh season as head coach for the University of Wisconsin swimming and diving teams will be his last.
A UW spokesperson confirmed Saturday that Hite will not return to the Badgers next season but had no other details. The news was first reported by SwimSwam.com.
The Badgers finished 17th of 45 teams at the NCAA women's championship last week after placing 15th last season. UW has one athlete competing at the men's championship on Saturday.
Hite took over the UW program in 2011 after two seasons as an assistant at Arizona.
During his tenure, the Badgers had one NCAA champion: Drew teDuits in the 200-yard backstroke in 2013.
