While the Wisconsin Badgers’ first game was closer than expected in a 28-14 win over Western Michigan on Friday, they still pulled out the win and showed promise in a few different areas.
Here is what went right for the Badgers last night.
Tyler Van Dyke’s debut
As I wrote in one of my preview articles for this game, I predicted that Van Dyke would be more active on his feet than before. Van Dyke was only sacked once by Western Michigan, and helped keep plays alive with his legs.
He was able to complete rollout checkdowns when needed and even scrambled for a six-yard rushing touchdown to put the game away for the Badgers late in the 4th quarter.
