The Wisconsin Badgers made an intriguing move when they hired former USC Trojans defensive coordinator Alex Grinch as their new safeties coach following the departure of Colin Hitschler, who left for the same role with the Alabama Crimson Tide.
With the hiring of Grinch, Wisconsin will now have three safeties coaches in three consecutive seasons, going from Jim Leonhard to Hitschler to Grinch.
Grinch will have some big shoes to fill, given the success of both of his predecessors, be it on the recruiting trail or as a position coach, but is ready for his next opportunity after being fired from USC back in November.
