Madison — Wisconsin's injury list is shrinking, albeit it gradually.
Reserve inside linebacker Leon Jacobs, who last week aggravated the toe injury he suffered in preseason camp, returned to practice Wednesday and is on track to play in the Big Ten Conference opener against Iowa.
"That is the expectation," UW defensive coordinator Dave Arandasaid after practice. "We're trying to get there."
Jacobs started the first three games before giving way to freshman Chris Orr. He has a total of 10 tackles in four games, including two for loss.
