Madison — Greg Gard could make far worse coaching decisions than to follow the game plan Bo Ryan used for 14-plus seasons as men's basketball coach at Wisconsin.
After all, Ryan led UW to 14 NCAA Tournaments, four Big Ten regular-season titles and three tournament titles and a winning percentage of .717 in conference play, which is the highest ever.
Yet despite being attached to Ryan's hip for the last 22-plus seasons, Gard is confident enough in his beliefs, style and personality to put his stamp on the program, even if his run lasts only for the remainder of the regular season.
