UW tailback Corey Clement decides to return for senior season

Madison — Junior tailback Corey Clement, who came to Wisconsin in 2013 determined to leave for the National Football League after three seasons, has concluded that goal no longer is attainable.

Clement, hampered by a sports hernia suffered last summer and limited to only three games this season, recently told his coaches he is returning to UW for the 2016 season.

"He knows he can't leave," running backs coach John Settle said after bowl practice Tuesday. "I was relieved because as a coach you don't want to see a guy make a bad decision.

"The fact he wasn't healthy and struggled through the year.
