UW receiver Robert Wheelwright expected to be back for Holiday Bowl

Madison — Junior wide receiver Robert Wheelwright, who missed Wisconsin's last four regular-season games because of a leg injury suffered at Illinois, appears on track to play in the Holiday Bowl.

Wheelwright participated fully Friday in UW's first full-team workout in preparation for the bowl game, set for Dec. 30 in San Diego.

Coach Paul Chryst, generally conservative when projecting the return of an injured player, would only say Wheelwright has a chance to play against USC.

"It wasn't a long practice," Chryst said. "We were out there an hour and 10, maybe an hour and 15 for the older guys.
