Madison— After a wild second period, neither Wisconsin nor Denver could light the lamp in the third and the teams ended tied, 3-3, on Friday night at the Kohl Center.
Denver led, 1-0, after the first but the Badgers (3-4-4) took command with three straight goals in the first 10 minutes of the second.
Matthew Freytag got UW on the board at 5:08 of the period, then the Badgers got quick-hitting goals from Jedd Soleway (8:49) and Luke Kunin (9:16).
The Pioneers answered with goals less then 2 minutes apart to knot the game late in the period.
