Jack Coan, a 6-foot-4, 215-pound quarterback from Sayville, N.Y., has given Wisconsin an oral commitment for the 2017 class.
Coan announced his commitment Thursday.
He had nearly 20 scholarship offers. The schools included Miami (Fla.), Nebraska, Michigan, Louisville, Indiana, Maryland and Syracuse.

Danica Patrickwas fined $20,000 by NASCAR Thursday for walking near the racetrack after a crash and Kyle Buschwas fined $10,000 for failing to meet media obligations at California.
Patrick also was placed on probation for four races. Contact with Kasey Kahnein Sunday's race at Auto Club Speedway caused her to wreck, and she violated a rule that says no one can "approach any portion of the racing surface or apron" when she gestured at Kahne.
