Former Wisconsin and UW-Whitewater running back Booker Stanley is recovering from being shot in the back during an armed robbery in Milwaukee early Friday morning, according to a report from WITI-TV.
Two men jumped out of their cars and robbed Stanley around 1 a.m. Friday morning near 26th and State in Milwaukee. After giving the men his money, watch and keys to his car, Stanley said one of the men shot him in the back while he was lying on the ground.
He found assistance from a nearby bar, and was just released Monday from Froedtert Hospital.
