One-time University of Wisconsin recruit Alona Johnson has signed with Bradley.
The Missouri Valley Conference school in Peoria, Ill., announced Johnson's signing Thursday. The news came after the 5-foot-5 guard from Milwaukee Riverside asked to be released from her commitment to the Badgers.
Johnson committed after her freshman year to Bobbie Kelsey, who was fired as UW coach after this past season.
"Alona signed so early with Wisconsin that her and Bobbi had built a great relationship and rapport," said Johnson's father, Kevin. "When the new coach (Jonathan Tsipis) came in, she sat down and had a talk with him and she decided she wanted to go out and look for another university that would play her style.
