The Wisconsin Badgers (4-3) cooled down a feverish start by the Wake Forest Demon Deacons (4-5), to win the Duke’s Mayo Bowl, 42-28, on Wednesday afternoon in Charlotte, N.C.
Touted as one of the more fast-paced offenses in college football, the Demon Deacons lived up to the billing early on against Wisconsin, scoring quickly on back-to-back drives to start the game.
The Demon Deacons amassed a total of 136 yards on 15 plays over their two opening drives, both of which ended in Sam Hartman touchdown passes to Jaquarii Roberson. Their scoring drives lasted 3:39 and 1:59, respectively.
