Despite strong efforts from Nigel Hayes and Alex Illikainen, Wisconsin could not complete a second half comeback against the No. 14 Boilermakers.
It was a career night for Wisconsin true freshman, Alex Illikainen, scoring a personal best 10 points in 11 minutes against No. 14 Purdue. However the breakout game was not enough to secure the win, as the steamrolling Boilermakers eventually pulled away in a 61-55 win over the Badgers.
7'0 beast incarnate, A.J. Hammons led the way for Purdue with a dominant performance, scoring 24 points, grabbing seven rebounds, and recording two blocks in their victory.
