The Wisconsin Badgers are sending another one of their student athlete to the 2024 Paris Olympics as senior Phoebe Bacon qualified Friday at the USA Swimming and Diving Trials in Indianapolis, taking second in the 200-meter backstroke finals to secure her spot at the Paris games.
Bacon finished in a time of 2:06.27, topped only by US champion, Regan Smith, who finished in 2:05.16.
It has been a highly successful year for Bacon, who also claimed the 2024 NCAA National Championship in the 200 backstroke and earned Big Ten Swimmer of the Championship at this year’s conference meet.
