For as good as the Wisconsin women’s hockey team has been this season, its unblemished record was still missing something — a win over archrival Minnesota.
The Badgers entered Friday night with a perfect 16-0-0 record, the best start in program history, but they had yet to play the team that has been a perennial thorn in their side for over four years.
But thanks to an overtime goal by sophomore forward Annie Pankowski, Wisconsin’s undefeated record remains intact and the Badgers’ 16-game winless streak against the Gophers has finally come to an end.
What a night.
