For the second week in a row, No. 1 Wisconsin women’s hockey nabbed a weekend series against a top-10 team.
Last week, the Badgers (14–0–0, 8–0–0–0) swept Minnesota on the road. No. 4 Ohio State came to LaBahn Arena this weekend with the same result.
Saturday, Wisconsin blitzed the Buckeyes 7–0, dealing Ohio State its first loss on the year. Six different Badgers scored, with sophomore forward Alexis Mauermann grabbing two goals in the blow-out victory.
The Wisconsin offense poured 42 shots on Buckeyes goaltender Kassidy Sauve, including 20 in the first period, leading to three goals.
