Reading a brief statement just outside TCF Bank Stadium on the University of Minnesota campus this morning, Norwood Teague resigned as the school's athletic director, citing "inappropriate texts" he had drunkenly sent to what university officials have confirmed are two non-student university employees.
"At a recent University event, I had entirely too much to drink," Teague read from a prepared statement. "I behaved badly towards nice people and sent truly inappropriate texts. I’m embarrassed and I apologize to everyone involved.”
Teague arrived in Minneapolis in 2012 from Virginia Commonwealth, taking over the Minnesota AD post from Madison native Joel Maturi.
