Maryland came into the season the popular choice to win the Big Ten, and the Terrapins have done nothing to shake the favorite's label heading into conference play.
Watch out for Michigan State, though.
The Spartans went into their league opener at Iowa on Tuesday night with a 13-0 record, their best start ever, and with a four-week hold on No. 1 in The Associated Press Top 25. Purdue and Indiana also have what it takes to win the league, and teams like Iowa, Michigan and even Northwestern could be factors.
Fourth-ranked Maryland is off to an 11-1 start against a mostly soft schedule, with its only loss against another top-10 team in North Carolina.
