The Wisconsin men’s tennis team (8-7, 0-1 Big Ten) racked up a win and a loss this weekend, beating Wright State (3-8) 7–0 Friday but losing to the Minnesota Gophers (8-3, 1-0) by an aggregate score of 5–2 Sunday.
The Badgers started strong in their first match since the ITA National Championships, as they quickly took the doubles point from Wright State. The Badgers’ Martim Vilela and Robert Krill won the first set, sweeping Carlos Sanchez and William Morton of Wright State 6–0. The Badger duo Gabriel Huber and Robin Parts clinched the doubles point with a victory over Javier Alvarez and Leighton Brandon by a score of 6–2.
