Former University of Wisconsin and professional hockey player Barry Richter will join his father, Pat, as a Madison Sports Hall of Fame inductee when the latest class is honored June 3 at Monona Terrace.
Barry Richter, multisport athlete Tim Healy, former UW volleyball coach Pete Waite and former UW and Olympic rower Jackie Zoch will be enshrined as the Hall of Fame's 53rd class.
Richter’s hockey career includes playing for UW, Olympic, U.S. World Championship, NHL and European league teams. The Badgers won the 1990 WCHA and NCAA titles and were NCAA runners-up in 1992. Richter’s honors included first-team All-WCHA and all-academic recognition and NCAA All-American and all-tournament team selection.
