La Crosse Central standout guard Kobe King commits to Wisconsin

Madison — Although for those outside the Wisconsin men's basketball program it is unclear how long Bo Ryan stay on has head coach, that uncertainty did not frighten Kobe King, arguably the top in-state prospect for the 2017 class.

King, a 6-foot-3 guard who excelled at La Crosse Central High School and with the Wisconsin Playground Warriors on the AAU Circuit, gave UW an oral commitment Wednesday.

Ritchie Davis, who runs the Wisconsin Playground Warriors, lauded King's relationship with Ryan and associate head coach Greg Gard.

"Kobe is from the state of Wisconsin so that makes it a little bit different," Davis said when asked about the uncertainty.
