The Wisconsin Badgers defeated the Minnesota Golden Gophers in a 28-14 victory, reclaiming the Axe Trophy for the first time in three years, while stopping the Gophers from reaching bowl eligibility.
It’s been an up-and-down season for Wisconsin, who endured a tough three-game losing streak after a solid start, keeping them away from the Big Ten Championship discussion, but the Badgers were ultimately able to win their final two games, improving to 7-5 on the year.
Offensively, the Badgers pounded the ball on the ground, rushing 44 times for 267 yards, as top back Braelon Allen rushed for 165 yards and two touchdowns on 26 attempts.
