Madison — Hawaii coach Norm Chow, who began his career in 1970 at Waialau High School in Hawaii, isn't prone to making grandiose statements.
Chow, 69, generally provides answers that are straightforward and devoid of hyperbole.
Case in point:
Asked to describe his feelings after the Rainbow Warriors overcame a slow start to subdue UC Davis on Saturday to improve to 2-1, Chow said:
"It's better than it would be to be 1-2, I guess."
Chow, whose team faces host Wisconsin (2-1) at 7 p.m. Saturday, was encouraged to see his offense wake from a slumber that had lasted six quarters.
